What is Digital Storytelling?

Today, “Digital Storytelling” is a broad reference to any practice of using digital tools to tell stories. But the original definition of “Digital Storytelling”  is a community arts movement that began in the San Francisco bay area to empower citizens to tell a story based on a personal experience and written from a first person point of view.

Today this art form continues to be practiced worldwide in workshops for education, public health and the arts. Some examples:
